“BIRDS OF A FEATHER”
Elaine’s deep love of nature has been around since childhood, collecting tadpoles and frogs in her “wellies” around the Scottish marshes is one of her earliest happy memory. Relocating to Australia in 1993 opened up a whole new world. Elaine has explored the flora and fauna of Australia with a child’s curiosity and wonderment making new discoveries daily. The enthusiasm and passion she feels about the natural world influences her painting narratives. Each painting in this series features flora and birds from around the Kimberley region. Elaine believes the benefits of being with nature are incalculable, in these images she is trying to recreate the sense of euphoria felt when captivated by nature.
Elaine is currently working on completing the 12 paintings in the “Birds of a feather” series, once all the paintings are complete they will be on display in a “DOC ART” exhibition to the public for purchase.
